What is the Gospel? How do you know you are saved? It's surprising to learn that many Christians struggle with the basic elements of the Gospel. Even more struggle with the assurance of their own eternal destiny. Our tendency is to emphasize our own works rather than the work of Jesus. Unfortunately, by looking to our works for assurance, rather than Jesus' promise of life, we become confused, and sometimes even question whether or not we are "truly" Christian. Praise God, that whosoever believes (not works) in Jesus, is given life. It's not our works, it's His, and His promise of life is true.
