How often it is that we lose perspective. It is rare for us to intentionally consider that in our circumstances, in all the details and intricacies of our lives, that God is working. Our failure to recognize God's hand and providential care leads us many times to doubt, to complain, and to otherwise be useless for the kingdom of God. The apostle Paul, even while imprisoned, was able to see the good that God was doing, and was able to give thanks and encourage the Philippians to press on toward unity and service. Let us consider how we may in our own circumstances, whether good or bad, have an eternal perspective and may our love "abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight" so that we may be able to "discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ."
