Philippians 1:27–2:5

In the upper room discourse, Jesus prayed for his disciples. He also prayed for us–that those who come to believe in Him through the ministry of the disciples would be one as He and the Father are one. He prayed for their unity. Years later the apostle Paul exhorts the Philippian church to be unified, to be of one mind striving together for the faith. Do we today take this call to unity seriously? What does it mean to be unified as the body of the Lord Jesus Christ?
